Context
Pathé had a private underground parking lot in the building of its former offices in Paris. With their lease coming to an end, Pathé had to move. The company was set to own a new building that would serve both as a multiplex cinema and their new office headquarters. Pathé wanted to provide its employees with the same high standard of parking facilities as at their previous site, capable of accommodating various modes of transport such as bicycles, thermal, and electric cars. Despite the high saturation of parking in the surrounding area, Pathé no longer had an underground parking facility at its new site.
Challenges
• Provide a multimodal solution that could securely accommodate 50 bicycles, thermal cars, and electric cars needing charging.
• Find a parking solution close to the new headquarters.
• Demonstrate agility, flexibility, and speed due to the imminent move.
Solution
BePark demonstrated agility and effectively met Pathé’s parking needs in just one month from the first contact to the move into the new offices. During this month, a feasibility study was conducted to install bike locking solutions, which were previously non-existent in the proposed parking lot. BePark orchestrated this operation by involving various key stakeholders within a very short timeframe.
Although there was a competing parking lot at the foot of Pathé’s new headquarters, it could not meet all their needs. BePark, therefore, found a parking lot just a 6-minute walk from Pathé’s new offices, meeting all their mobility requirements. Additionally, access to the parking lot is now via license plate recognition, rendering the cumbersome use of badges obsolete.
The new parking lot includes:
• 9 spaces with charging stations for electric vehicles
• 7 spaces for thermal cars with a pooling service, allowing Pathé to easily share parking spaces among its employees, which is convenient with new telecommuting policies
• Spaces for 50 bicycles (previously non-existent in the parking lot)
• 1 space for a motorcycle
