Athénée Royal d’Ixelles is a school based in Brussels. Located in the center of Europe, the school provides an education based on the principles of democracy and pursues a single ambition: to ensure quality education in a strict family and multicultural environment.

THE SCHOOL’S CHALLENGES & OPPORTUNITIES

Just like most schools in city areas, the Athénée Royal d’Ixelles has a private parking lot to accommodate the teaching staff and sometimes even parents or students.

Such a parking lot in a city center is a real resource that is most useful to the school during the day but remains heavily untapped at night. This often happens in districts where neighbours face real trouble to park their car when they come back from work or during the weekend.

What if the school could share the parking with the neighbours at night while making sure that the places are there for the staff during the day? What if the school could generate substantial revenue each month in doing so?

The good news is that there is a solution for that! A solution that does not require any extra responsibilities from the school.

WHAT IS THE SOLUTION PROVIDED BY BEPARK?

In 2014, the Athénée Royal d’Ixelles started a partnership with BePark. Since that year, BePark has been in charge of the commercialisation of the 35 parking spaces at night. The company provides the school with an all in one service for the commercialisation at night that includes:

  • Access to the parking via an app
  • Commercialisation of monthly subscriptions
  • Regular parking control via the BePark control team
  • Invoicing and management of customer’s payments

At the end of the month, the school is presented with a financial report of what has been generated. For the school, it was a 0€ investment and it required no time at all.

Even better, nothing changes for the teachers. They can continue to use the parking as they always did.

THE RESULTS?

After a few years of collaboration, BePark was able to generate significant revenues for the school although the places were only available at night. If the school could have spared a few places during the day, the revenues could have easily been doubled.

The revenues generated are, in a sense, contributing to the schools’ mission and projects and thus benefiting to the community. So in short, there were multiple positive results for the school:
